Dr. Howard Troob graduated from Araneta University in 1979 and returned to RI to open South County Veterinary Hospital in 1982, followed by Washington County Veterinary Hospital in 1985. Married for 48 years with four sons, he enjoys coastal living, pigeon racing, fishing, woodworking, and skiing.

Dr. Levy, a 2005 University of Florida graduate from Long Island, NY, enjoys family life, beach trips, hiking, and reading vegetarian cookbooks with her three cats and two rabbits.

Dr. Deborah Green is a veterinarian with over 38 years of experience, a Tufts University graduate, who enjoys travel, live music, Broadway, and beach outings in her free time.

Dr. Enriquez-Mercado, from Puerto Rico, earned her veterinary degree at Ross University and completed her clinical year at Iowa State. She enjoys small animal care, surgery, and has a passion for equine medicine. Outside of work, she loves reading, hiking, and traveling.

Associate Veterinarian

A Virginia Tech graduate with 14+ years of veterinary experience, she enjoys family time, beach days, hiking, skiing, and caring for her pets including 4 cats, a dog, and 11 chickens.

Dr. Heather Lopes

Dr. Otis, associate veterinarian at South County, has practiced for 33 years since graduating from the University of Pennsylvania. Known for being thorough and compassionate, he enjoys biking, hiking, swimming, and surfing.

Dr. E.J. Otis

Kim grew up on a farm and has built a career spanning animal care, surgery, anesthesia, and management. She has supported thousands of pets through rescue and wellness programs, is certified in compassion fatigue, and was named RI Technician of the Year in 2020. Now a Practice Manager and RIVTA board member, she enjoys time with her family, hobby farm, and garden.

Haylee earned her BS in Animal and Veterinary Science from URI and studied at Ross University. With 15+ years of experience in wildlife, exotics, livestock, and small animals, she is also a certified veterinary technician with multiple advanced certifications. She enjoys teaching, volleyball, family time, and the beach.

Janette, LSEC, CVBL, Elite FFCP, HABc, FCVP is a graduate of the Katharine Gibbs School of Business, joined South and Washington County Veterinary Hospitals in 2017 with decades of experience in both general and holistic veterinary medicine. Named Rhode Island Veterinary Technician of the Year in 2016, she is passionate about compassionate care and enjoys spending time with her family, pets, and granddaughters.
